About Tempo by Hilton
Tempo by Hilton is a proposed hotel development located at Centre House. Centre House is currently an empty office building at the corner of Chichester Street and Victoria Street comprising ground floor retail units and office accommodation above. Centre House was built in two phases and was originally known as RAC House. Phase one was built from 1976 - 1977, with this section fronting on Chicester Street and extending to 5 storeys. The second phase was built in the early 1990s along Victoria Street and Gloucester Street and extends to 8 storeys.
In September 2006, SP Properties submitted a planning application (Z/2006/2137/F) proposing an extension to ground floor entrance lobby. This application was approved in November 2006.
In September 2015, Kilmona Holdings submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) (LA04/2015/1061/PAN) proposing an extension to the existing office building to provide an additional c.5388sqm of office floor space. This Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was considered acceptable.
In March 2016, Kilmona Property Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2016/0581/F) proposing an extension of the existing office building to provide additional office floorspace and a single retail unit, including the demolition of an existing 3 storey office building at 9 Gloucester Street. This application was approved in January 2017.
In June 2018, StepSpace launched in Centre House. Their expansion forms part of a £1m investment by Causeway Asset Management, in addition to an initial investment of £3m. As part of the move, StepSpace tenant PA Consulting, which planned to create 400 jobs in Belfast, expanded to the first floor of Centre House.
In March 2019, Kilmona Property Limited submitted a planning application (LA04/2019/0582/F) proposing an extension to the existing building to provide additional floorspace including elevational alterations (further to approved application LA04/2016/0581/F). This application was approved in June 2019.
In July 2022, Kilmona Property Ltd submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) (LA04/2022/1353/PAN) proposing the development of 146 no. bed hotel over 5 floors, with 17 additional bedrooms (new build over 5th floor subject to structural investigations).
In November 2022, Kilmona Property Limited submitted a planning application (LA04/2022/2216/F) proposing change of use from offices to hotel (146 bedrooms) over five floors (2nd to 6th floor) including extension to 5th floor (17 bedrooms), goods hoist from ground to 2nd floor and elevational alterations to Centre House.The proposals will consist of a restaurant & retail on the ground floor, offices on the first floor, reception, restaurants, gym & bedrooms on the 2nd floor and bedrooms on the 3rd-6th floor. This application was approved in December 2023.
In March 2025, international hotel chain Hilton revealed plans to open their first Tempo by Hilton hotel in Northern Ireland at 69-87 Chichester Street. The Tempo by Hilton hotel is expected to open by the end of 2026.
In May 2025, Loughview Leisure Ltd submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) (LA04/2025/0750/PAN) proposing:
A change of use from offices to a hotel across the 1st to 7th floors, featuring 176 bedrooms, a breakfast/dining room, bar, kitchen, gym, and business suite.
Elevational changes to the existing structure.
A partial change of use on the ground floor, converting a café into a retail unit and ancillary space to accommodate a new hotel entrance and office access.
Construction of a two-storey extension on the 5th floor.
Relocation of existing plant rooms and addition of a new plant room.
Creation of a new delivery entrance at ground floor level.

Adelaide Business Park is situated on the Apollo Road, just off the Boucher Road and located on a 1.02 hectare site. The property consists of a commercial complex comprising a two-storey office building fronting onto a car park overlooking Apollo Road, behind which sits two rows of warehouse units. Belfast Central Library, located on Royal Avenue, is a prominent three-story red sandstone building designed by architect William Henry Lynn for the Belfast Corporation.
