About Stockmans Way Apartments

The proposed residential development site is located at lands to the south of the M1 and to the north of Stockmans Way. It was previously occupied by a large industrial building split into 3 no. units and a disused car sales site. The site had remained undeveloped until after 1986.


In September 2007, PBN Property Ltd submitted a planning application (Z/2007/2167/F) proposing to demolish the existing buildings on the site and to construct a residential development comprising 96 units. This application was approved in February 2009.


In June 2015, Kilmona Holdings Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2015/0668/F) proposing to demolish the existing buildings on the site and to construct a residential development comprising 96 units. This application was approved in November 2018. Dougan Property & Lanyon Homes marketed the development as Southside Residence with 40 apartments being released as part of phase one of the development on 21st June 2017. This phase sold out quickly with 8 more apartments being released in the second phase. The development was originally marketed with having a "late 2018 completion" date.


In July 2019, Kilmona Property Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2019/1615/F) proposing the erection of a mixed use development consisting of a 25 no. bed hotel and 88 no. apartments. This application has not yet been granted permission but was recommended for approval at the Belfast City Council Planning Committee on 16th June 2020.


In October 2020, Kilmona Property Ltd submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) (LA04/2020/2073/PAN) propsoing the development of 72no. proposed apartments with associated car parking and landscaping. This Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was considered acceptable.


In March 2021, Kilmona Property Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2021/0629/F) proposing a residential development of 72 no. apartments in 3 no. blocks with associated car parking, landscaping and road widening works to Stockmans Way.
